Star Trek Online: Galaxy Map

I originally started this Star chart whilst playing Star Trek: Online during the closed beta, as I realized that the galaxy was actually quite hard to navigate as the in-game was map was not as informative as many players wanted (You could only see systems when zoomed into sector maps). As the game grew, the star chart went through multiple iterations to show more information and to more accurately. The Star Chart quickly became popular with over 250,000 views, which along with my ship tier chart, gave me the motivation to leave my job and go back to university to study design.

In 2014, after leaving university, I was fortunate enough to be hired by Perfect World and had the opportunity to work directly with Star Trek: Online, a dream come true! One of the first projects I worked on was to revamp the Star chart into a poster format we could give out at convenstions.

The season 13 update to the Galaxy map, I removed the isometric effect because as awesome as it was, it was really difficult to work with! For this version I gave the stars their actual colours from in game.
